Type 1 Diabetes:
The body is unable to manufacture insulin in type 1 diabetes. The pancreatic cells that produce insulin are attacked and destroyed by the immune system. Although it can present at any age, it is most commonly diagnosed in children and young people. Every day, the patient must take insulin to keep alive.
Type 2 Diabetes:
The body of a person with type 2 diabetes is unable to produce or utilise insulin effectively. It can appear at any age, including in childhood. This kind of diabetes affects persons in their forties and fifties. Diabetes mellitus is the most frequent type of the disease.
Type 3 Diabetes:
Gestational Diabetes: During pregnancy, some women get this kind of diabetes. If the patient has gestational diabetes, she has a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes later on in life.
